TimescaleDB problems after Update from 7.0.0 to 7.0.1

    Hello everyone,
Yesterday I updated from Zabbix 7.0.0 to 7.0.1.
I restarted the server today because I noticed that the dashboard was still showing version 7.0.0.

Shortly afterwards, I noticed that the dashboard was showing connection problems to the server.

Apparently there are problems with the TimeScaleDB configuration and the auditlog table.

When installing Zabbix 7, I followed the instructions provided by Zabbix. Unfortunately I am not a database expert, so I hope someone has a hint for me!

    OS/Software information:
    Code:
    Debian 12 Bookworm
    Postgresql: 16.3
    Timescaledb: 2.14.2
    apt-get upgrade history:
    Code:
    Start-Date: 2024-07-23 10:03:03
    Commandline: apt-get upgrade
    Upgrade: zabbix-sql-scripts:amd64 (1:7.0.0-1+debian12, 1:7.0.1-1+debian12), zabbix-agent2-plugin-mongodb:amd64 (1:7.0.0-1+debian12, 1:7.0.1-1+debian12), zabbix-server-pgsql:amd64 (1:7.0.0-1+debian12, 1:7.0.1-1+debian12), zabbix-apache-conf:amd64 (1:7.0.0-1+debian12, 1:7.0.1-1+debian12), zabbix-agent2-plugin-ember-plus:amd64 (1:7.0.0-1+debian12, 1:7.0.1-1+debian12), zabbix-agent2-plugin-mssql:amd64 (1:7.0.0-1+debian12, 1:7.0.1-1+debian12), zabbix-agent:amd64 (1:7.0.0-1+debian12, 1:7.0.1-1+debian12), zabbix-get:amd64 (1:7.0.0-1+debian12, 1:7.0.1-1+debian12), zabbix-agent2:amd64 (1:7.0.0-1+debian12, 1:7.0.1-1+debian12), zabbix-agent2-plugin-postgresql:amd64 (1:7.0.0-1+debian12, 1:7.0.1-1+debian12), zabbix-frontend-php:amd64 (1:7.0.0-1+debian12, 1:7.0.1-1+debian12)
    End-Date: 2024-07-23 10:03:14
Since the restart this morning, the service crashes and restarts every 2-3 minutes.
Always with the previously non-existent Timescaledb error message

    Maybe these:

https://support.zabbix.com/browse/ZBX-24889 = VMware poller crash (to be fixed in 7.0.2)

https://www.zabbix.com/documentation...grade-from-7.0 = known issue "Server crash with PostgreSQL/TimescaleDB after upgrade from 7.0"

        Thanks for the answer!
However, I'm still on the stable path and can't find any information on how to switch to unstable/rc.

My zabbix.list already looks like in the documentation.
        Code:
        # Zabbix main repository
        deb https://repo.zabbix.com/zabbix/7.0/debian bookworm main
        deb-src https://repo.zabbix.com/zabbix/7.0/debian bookworm main
        zabbix_server --version
        Code:
        zabbix_server (Zabbix) 7.0.1
        Revision 0543fbe4af6 22 July 2024, compilation time: Jul 22 2024 07:14:13

There isn't a 7.0.2 rc version available yet, and there aren't prebuilt packages for patch rc versions (like 7.0.2rc1; the link you provided seems to refer to major/minor versions like 6.5 = 7.0alpha/beta/rc, but there aren't any available yet for 7.2), so I think the only way to get the VMware poller thing fixed is to follow the issue and compile the server from sources when the fix is available. But on the other hand, since/if the issue is severe, maybe they'll push 7.0.2 out sooner.

            Thank you again.
I took care of the TimescaleDB issue first and after executing the commands I found that the system still crashes.
Unfortunately, I only took care of the Vmware issue after your 2nd message.
I have disabled the Vmware collectors on the server and proxy, deactivated the hosts and will wait and see.
So far the server is stable - I can do without Vmware for the time being!

Thank you so much, you made my day!
