How to monitor zabbix server itself?

I wish to know if zabbix server is down, will noticed by e-mail from zabbix itself?

It is always the question, "who watches the watchers"..
You can create a simple check script and run it from crontab for example... If server process(es) are not found, send an email .. or something.
