    PostgreSQL with timescaleDB

    Hi,

I am using Zabbix v7.0 with PostgreSQL and TimescaleDB.

I have two servers and the database is replicated between them.

Do I need to configure partitioning on both servers or will the database replicate if partitioning is configured on only one server?

If I need to configure on both servers do they need to be stopped while configuring partitioning?

    BR,
    Hubert

Replication should replicate everything... Doing changes in active host will be replicated in passive.. Thats the point of replication...

Thanks for the answer. I have one more related with this.

I have set up timescaledb, hypertables and compression. Additional in Zabbix I've set up housekeeping
      History data storage period: 21d
      Trends data storage period: 60d
      Compress records older than: 7d

      but command
SELECT * FROM timescaledb_information.jobs; does not display policy_retention column. Do I need to add retention_policy manualy on database and disable housekeeping?

      BR,
      Hubert

I never added anything manually..:P I dont see such field in DB also, so I guess it does not have to be there

Zabbix script for timescale only setting up compression and housekeeping. If you want to delete chunks automatically you need to add retention_policy manually. (Timescale Documentation | Create a data retention policy)

That is something that housekeeper in Zabbix should do for you..
At least here I have no issues of DB just growing.. old things are dropped as required, data is saved as defined in housekeeper settings...
