    WAN IP Monitoring - ICMP

We currently have Zabbix setup and patched to the latest version (7.2.2).

This instance currently monitors all our routers and WAN default gateways as indvidual hosts however where we have sites that have 2 WAN circuits we want to be able to group these and give a Warning alarm if 1/2 go of and a High alarm if 2/2 go off.

Currently if we loose 1 circuit the host stays gree and no alarm is generted.

Is this something that is possible?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hey!

So, if I understood it correctly, each WAN circuit is a host an there's an item that will check if it is working.

You'll need to create two triggers in one of these hosts with syntaxes like this:

For the 1/2 off WAN with the warning severity:
    Code:
    last(/firstWAN/item.key)=0 or last(/secondWAN/item.key)=0
For the 2/2 off WANs with the warning high:
    Code:
    last(/firstWAN/item.key)=0 and last(/secondWAN/item.key)=0
This will actually create both triggers in both hosts.

You'll most likely want to use another function instead of last, but this was just an example.

Just a additional information that could be useful at some point...
You may want to check out triggers dependencies if you haven't yet, it helps to reduce the number of alerts you receive when you have a lot of monitored devices that depend ia a router, or switch, for example.

If I misunderstood it and you have only 1 host that monitors both circuits, you can still use the same ideia for the triggers, using the "and" and "or" operators.

    Hope it helps!

Apologies for the next part to this question...

If I have a host setup like this for example how do I differentiate between the host interfaces for the trigger expression like you suggested?

I have a lot of these to setup so I was planning to duplicate the "ICMP Ping" template and add the triggers to this.
