Put a switchport trigger in maintenance if the connected device is in maintenance

So I have a multiple switches connected to a central switch. If I service one of the edge switches, I put it in maintenance. But the central switch will still trigger an alert if he sees the port to the edge switch go down.
Can I edit the trigger on the central switch, not to alert if the edge switch is in maintenance? Or some other way of reaching the same goal.

Tags? All edge switch ports and that one central switch port shoudl have somekind of a tag with same value. Then you can create maintenance criteria based on tag value... And even if problem is fired, it will not be escalated..
