Updating Templates

Hello all,

I am making some changes to the default FreeBSD template, so I can monitor some items in my dashboard. What do I need to change in the header, so when I import the template it will not conflict with the existing FreeBSD template.

Only header will not help... every single item/trigger etc has an uuid. Everything with matching uuid will be chnaged when you import...
I would clone the template first, modify the clone and use it and leave default one alone...

Thanks...did as you instructed and its working out well. Now for the harder part...

The Linux active agent template has an item called Memory utilization. I would like to copy that item over to my FreeBSD template. When I try to do the copy its telling me that it cannot without the master item with a particular key name. In looking at my FreeBSD template there is no key with the name, so I would like to add that key to my FreeBSD template. What is the best way to do this? Is there a way to copy keys from one template to another?

You can copy items from tempalte to another... Just select thos tiems you want to copy from the list and copy.. find correct target
