To be clear on the install, I set the bin_trust to on

run through the update procedures for Ubuntu 24.04

set the bin trust back to off and the error appears- I even tried the unsupported DB fix

Not sure what to do at this point or what to check- I have a snapshot of the VM so I keep reverting back, any ideas?

The Zabbix UI error message tells you that the Zabbix server process has not yet upgraded the Zabbix database.

Did you restart zabbix-server service after upgrading the server? See also zabbix_server.log for more information.

I have exactly the same problem, rebooting the zabbix server did not help. There is no useful information in the logs.

Ar_Pak (please use proper replies and not comments, they are hard to quote etc), so you are saying that you upgraded the zabbix-server-mysql package and the service has been restarted. What does the log actually say, what is the running Zabbix server version and did it show that it upgraded the database from 0702xxxx to 0704xxxx?

I actually figured it out (I did multiple restarts just to stay accurate) Looks like what happened was the dbpassword was actually re commented in the conf, no idea how that happened, but I took the # out and gave it a restart and then the DB updated and now I'm off to the races. Thanks for replying sorry it wasn't a bigger problem.

Note that as of Zabbix 7.4 the server configuration file now has an Include directive by default (https://support.zabbix.com/browse/ZBXNEXT-4641), so in the future it is easier to upgrade the server when placing all local configurations in a new include file, thus you can just allow the upgrade to overwrite zabbix_server.conf (actually it does not even ask about it if you haven't modified it).
