    Problem with template "Template Virt VMware Hypervisor"

    Hello

    somehow zabbix is not polling data from my esx host, would be glad if someone can help me on this issue.

    i added one host with following settings:

    Code:
    SNMP interfaces 172.16.252.2 (ESXi IP)
    Templates Template Virt VMware Hypervisor
    Macro {$PASSWORD} = *password*
    Macro {$URL} HTTPS://172.16.252.2/sdk
    Macro {$USERNAME} root
    zabbix_server.conf looks like following:

    Code:
    StartVMwareCollectors=10
    VMwareFrequency=60
    VMwarePerfFrequency=60
    VMwareCacheSize=8M
    VMwareTimeout=10
    on ESX host i can see that zabbix is logging in:
    Code:
    user [email protected] logged in
    after a few seconds (~30) "root" logs out again with message
    Code:
    Amount of API-Calls:0, User-agent"
    no data is polled to zabbix. Anyone an idea what the issue here is?

    thanks

    Please check the log of Zabbix server.

    The template to be linked to ESXi is "Template Virt VMware",
    not "Template Virt VMware Hypervisor".

      Thanks for your reply!

      Isnt it possible to link the "Template Virt VMware Hypervisor" directly to a manually created host?

      I create a host !DE-SRV-ESX02! and linked "Template Virt VMware" to this host. After a while, "Discover VMware hypervisors" creates a new host called "DE-SRV-ESX02.contonso.com" and links "Template Virt VMware Hypervisor",this one receives data well.

      But i dont want to have 2 host-enties for the same host, furthermore i cant change anything on the discovered host. Am i doing anything wrong? Is there another way to monitor ESXi resources without using auto-discovery? Or at least is there a chance to discover hosts without creating first a dummy host (to avoid redundancy)?

      Thanks in advance for your help!
