    Postgres v18 + TSDB v2.23 support?

    Hello,

    I’ve spent a while on building a Postgres v18 + TSDB v2.23 virtual server. Then on another server I’ve put the latest version of Zabbix on it plus Nginx and I went through the wizard and connect it to the database and logged in but saw that it couldn’t connect to the database.

    I read somewhere that Postgres v18 + TSDB v2.23 is now supported?

    Anyway I’ve had to add the below to the server.conf and all is working now.

    AllowUnsupportedDBVersions=1

    am I ok to leave it like this? Of should we downgrade to v17 with v2.22?

    18.X since Zabbix 7.4.4.
    I guess TS 2.23 will follow with next patch... It always comes out just before Zabbix releases something ..

    But I think you can leave that "unsupported" as it is..

      Thanks, I just see this, but I guess it's working, but don't know how to tell:

        It is just a warning.. you can still see form DB side if all the compression etc is working .. I woudl say that TS is backwards compatible and if an app is built on some version, which features are still present in a bit newer one, there should not be an issue... with minor version change, I think there are just bugfixes and nothing really gets dropped..

          Thank you for you reply, I'll leave it as it as.

          I'm moving onto the proxy servers next, would you use Postgres, SQLite3 or MySQL for these.

            There is already an open feature request for TimescaleDB 2.23: https://support.zabbix.com/projects/.../ZBXNEXT-10289, implementation progress can be tracked there.
