Agent running on Windows 2k3 - Not Listening

    Hi Guys,

I have installed the precompiled version of the zabbix agent on a windows 2003 server. I have setup countless hosts for freebsd machines without a problem. I have the zabbix agent configured correctly, using the default listening port and also assigning the server IP to accept connections from. Zabbix is installed as a service runs fine and no errors are stated in the logs. Everything seems to startup successfully.

I have no firewall running on the windows machine. For some reason I am unable to establish a connection 'connection refused' is being reported in zabbix server as well as zabbix server logs. I am unable to telnet to port 10050 from my zabbix server to the windows server with the agent running. No firewalls are between hosts.

Does anyone have any suggestions or has anyone seen this before. No windows firewall, no IPSEC, no server firewalls.. and I have this setup on 15 freebsd servers without a problem.

Please advise. Your assistance is greatly appreciated.

    regards,
    John

Well, after running netstat a few times I noticed that the server was only listening on 127.0.0.1, and this was with the servers primary IP defined in the agend.conf as the ListeningIP.

I commented that line out, as well as the PID and the debug line and restarted. Everything now works.. seems very strange.. perhaps a bug?

    Regards,
    John

Actually, that didnt help. I was able to make a connection to one of my freebsd servers, typo. Still the same problem. Im stumped.

netstat shows 10050 listening on 0.0.0.0 but I am still unable to make a connection, even from localhost.. All I get is a blank screen, like its hanging, then back to the local command prompt..

      Strange.

Do "telnet 127.0.0.1 10050" on the WIN host.

Already did. Blank screen.. no errors, nothing. As soon as a hit a key it clears me back out to the windows command prompt.. Very strange.

I've also rebooted the server, netstat shows port 10050 listening on 0.0.0.0 and I assume thats all available interfaces.. or system wide interfaces.
