Oh, sorry. Zabbix 1.4.5 does not allows to configure additional parameters (ssl, port numbers, etc), so it might be required to modify source code.

BTW, Gmail is not very different from other Jabber servers:

Alternatively you could also use an external script to do the jabber stuff. I have a PHP shellscript which does this for me in my setup. It allows some more configuration.

As long as they are compatible with the XMPP protocol, they should work just fine. And no, nothing should have changed since the other posts in the thread were written.

Im not sure if they are. Since I think my Zabbix is not configured with Jabber i can test it. Actually not even emails alerts are send. But this Trillian looks good it i make it work.
