We use Scriptscase (www.scriptcase.net) a Brazilian system that allows for powerful reporting in PHP - you build the reports and app in a web interface and then deploy to run-time - this was the only multi-user easy-to-use system we ever found - not too expensive, and very powerful for DBMS-driven data.

Exports to XLS, PDF, has graphs, sorts, search, powerful data grids, plus can write to the DB for interactive apps if you want. It's not super sexy nor very drag-drop, but powerful and very useful.

We have dozens of Zabbix reports from this - mostly for config issues, templates, unused hosts, disabled or error items, etc. Not so much for actual gathered data (we use custom PHP reports to PDF for that), but this would be used.

Are there any guides that you can provide or share on using scriptcase with zabbix?

Not really guides - you might see my talk at the Zabbix conference in 2014 about the DB; you can find it on Slideshare under my name.

But first you need to just master Scriptcase, which is great but takes getting used to in general. Then you can just write reports against the Zabbix DB, depending on what you want - depends a lot on your needs.

Very important to understand the DB relationships and details for hosts, items, functions, triggers, events, groups, history/trends.

Also, the Zabbix folks will advise you to use the API whenever possible, but not really very good for reporting.
