When will SNMP really be supported?

I'm using zabbix now since version 1.4 and always asked myself: When will zabbix have the ability to use SNMP the way it should be used?

Adding a switch to your monitoring system should only take you minutes, not days.
Here`s the IP and the comunity, give me names and graphs of all interfaces etc...
Right now, it`s not even possible to have a graph named like the interface description you define on the switch (at least you`ll do it manually for every interface). Can someone of the devs pls give a statement for the further plans of SNMP features? It's not possible to evaluate the use of a support contract without at least a timeline for these features. I've collected some links to show, that i`m not the only one facing this issues:

I know zabbix is a open source software and i can`t demand these features, but still i think it`s Zabbix SIA`s own interest that the community gets a feedback.

there might appear improved snmp monitoring configuration process in zabbix 2.0.
nothing specific on graph names, though

one should keep in mind that features that appear were really important to somebody.
which means that while many users are mentioning improved snmp support, so far for most of them it has not been that much important.

How do you know that? I think there are many users which never complain and never will write a post in the forums, because they don`t even think about using zabbix as long as snmp features haven`t improved.
I'm not asking for a solution, but i would be glad if someone of the devs says:
"Yes, we too think that snmp support should be improved and we`re working on it" or even better: "... there will be alot improvements in ver X.X"

if somebody doesn't even write about something, how important is that thing to the person then ?
if you look at the new features in zabbix, majority of them have been financed by entities that were really interested in those features. so for them, these features were more important than anything else.

it's always risky to promise something, don't you agree ?
overpromising and underdelivering is worse than the opposite (at least imho).
so i could just repeat that there might be some improvements regarding snmp in 2.0, even if nobody is giving a specific list of promises.

what you can be sure about, as soon as something important enough gets done, there will be an effort to brag about that in what'snew pages
