Hi All,
I am trying to get on board with monitoring our infrastructure with zabbix - but I am a complete beginner.
I have installed the latest zabbix version and I imported my first vCenter. The discovery found my hypervisors, but for some, it wrote the wrong IP in the interface section, causing the hypervisor to appear as down.
Backgound: My ESXi Hosts have three VMKernel Ports:
vmk0: reachable from the outside but used for nothing else
vmk1: vMotion
vmk2: MGMT (non routed private IP address not accessible via anything but the hypervisors).

I found that all of them had vmk0 and 2 with Management enabled, even the one where the IP was discovered correctly. I have since disabled this, and only enabled Management for vmk2. I then deleted the hosts and waited for a new discovery but no change. Host 1 had the correct address, Host 2 did not.
I have since cloned host 2 to manually edit the IP address, this seems to work, but I'd like to avoid doing that for all hosts.
Furthermore I have a VM with a single NIC and VMware Tools installed, where the IP address of a Tunnel adapter Local Area Connection* 2 is used, instead of the one from the only Ethernet Adapter.
Lastly, when I click on that particular VM, the field Groups, show the ESXi host on which it resides. I am testing this right now, but I am guessing that will not update once I move the VM to a different host?
So my main question is, how can I fix the templates to that the right IP address will be read out? I found references to "#HV.IP" but I am not sure what do with that and where it comes from..
Thanks for your help!
