How can i stop monitoring item during night?

    Hi,
I'm brand new user of Zabbix, thats is imo a great supervision software.

I got 86 hosts and 2800 items to check (on Zabbix 1.4.5) , and i have a constraint, a part of the network (and one router) must be shutdown during night ( from 17:30 to 10:00) and i dont really know how to stop the monitoring, to avoid "disaster" triggers to fire...

So, i read (deeply !) the manual and i tried the "flexible interval" and that not seems to be efficient...

    I put a 3600 s interval between 3:00 and 4:00 and i had a value at 3:00 then at 3:58 then at 4:45 ! (all value AM)

    Weird!

And i tried with other item on other hosts and flexible interval never worked.

So, is there a way to stop monitoring an item?

My actions are made about severity (one disaster, warning etc.)

    Dyonisos.

PS: sry for some weird sentences, i'm french and it's sometimes hard to formulate ideas in english way of speaking

I set it up in actions. I add a time period condition and I say "not in". You may also need to use (and or) if you're using multiple trigger "OR" conditions. Sure you'll still trigger and that will affect your SLA, but you won't get a message. I have a server that goes down for backup between 1 and 2, I get to sleep like a log during that time. :-)

thanks, i didnt remenber there was a time condition in action

So i put a lot of server, routers in one group that is notified 24/7 then i put other hosts (that shutdown during night) in another group.
I cloned my actions, i added conditions and i will test, but i think its gonna work

Anyway, ur right about "quality" , but alexei said flexible interval gonna really work in 1.6.
