    Active Agent problems since 1.4

Is there a reason why this should not work as an Active Agent?

    perf_counter[\PhysicalDisk(_Total)\Avg. Disk Read Queue Length]

This stopped working when I upgraded from 1.4.6 to 1.6 and is the same in 1.6.1 and is really a shame as most of the people have some desire of using remote agents.

The server is running CentOS 5.2.

    Regards,

    Paul

I don't see a problem with that. I haven't upgraded any of my agents because of various reports of issues i've read like yours.

    Revert back to 1.4?

The issue is not with the agents, it is with the zabbix server itself. I reverted back to server 1.4.6 and all agents reported perfectly without any changes on their side so this is a server issue. I kept the GUI at 1.6 and so far so good.

I have not seen any official posting regarding this and reverting to 1.4 while is a bandaid not a solution. It will be great if anyone at Zabbix Corp makes any suggestions as to where the problem may be and perhaps the community can work together to find a solution. My two cents anyway.

      Regards,

      Paul

Strange. You're saying that 1.4 agents won't report windows perf counters to a 1.6 server, but they work with 1.4 server?

That seems very odd. I would look at your debug logs for the agent and server.

yes, that is exactly what I am saying. Nothing on the agend logs, the issue is not in the agents, but in the server software. On the server side if I enable debug logging it generates all kinds of entries, but nothing for me that will be able to help me find the issue. The servers I maintain are remote and stopped reporting when I upgraded to 1.6. They autmatically started working again by reinstalling 1.4.6 server.

I cannot be the only one having this issue.

What does your zabbix_server config file look like? I seem to recall something about incorrect nodeid settings causing issues.

Is it just Windows Perf counters or are values not working?

Sorry, I can't be of more help.

Check out this thread, it might help
