Problems with zabbix perfomance

sorry for my bad english, but i hope you understand me

i have zabbix(1.4.6) installed on a P3@ 730MHz with 384MB RAM and Debian Lenny. the mysql-server is on a Windows 2003 PC(Xeon@3,4GHz; 1GB RAM).

installed is ok, but when i will logged in and nothing happens after 600seconds it comes a timeout. when i look at the mysql base there ist nothing inside but the zabbix user has all privileges. The log has much written.. the connect from zabbix to mysql is successfully

die Installation war soweit auch erfolgreich, aber wenn ich mich dann einloggen will passiert nichts ich hab auch schon den timeout auf 600sek gesetzt, aber auch nach 600sek kommt einfach ein timeout. Wenn ich auf den mysql-server gucke seh ich das zabbix erfolgreich connectet hat und wie wild irgendwas macht(er hat alle rechte auf seiner datenbank) aber nichts passiert, keine tabellen werden angelegt etc.. und ich weiss absolut nicht warum.

kann mir evtl jemand helfen?? bin völlig ratlos

did you populate the initial database as per installation instructions ?

die Tabellen werden aber per command erstellt:
shell> mysql -u<username> -p<password>
mysql> create database zabbix;
mysql> quit;
shell> cd create/schema
shell> cat mysql.sql | mysql -u<username> -p<password> zabbix
shell> cd ../data
shell> cat data.sql | mysql -u<username> -p<password> zabbix
shell> cat images_mysql.sql | mysql -u<username> -p<password> zabbix

also die die datenbank(zabbix) ist ja da, nur sie ist ohne inhalt..

@richlv: the zabbix-database exist, but there is no content, i hope you know what i mean

if the db exists but is empty, then you haven't correctly performed schema & data import steps

but zabbix connectet correctly to the mysql-server and has full permission to the zabbix-database

bitte erstelle mit den einzelnen schritten:

hell> mysql -u<username> -p<password>
mysql> create database zabbix;
mysql> quit;
shell> cd create/schema
shell> cat mysql.sql | mysql -u<username> -p<password> zabbix
shell> cd ../data
shell> cat data.sql | mysql -u<username> -p<password> zabbix
shell> cat images_mysql.sql | mysql -u<username> -p<password> zabbix

die Datenbank und die einzellnen tabellen
(wie das unter Windofs MySql geht keine Ahnung)
und melde Dich dann an :-))

notfals erstelle die DB unter Linux, mach ein Backup und Restore Sie in Windofs

wieso wills Du eíngentlich die DB auf W2003 installieren???

das musste den oberadmin fragen
er begründet es damit das dort schon MS-SQL drauf läuft und er nicht möchte das überall was verschiedenes läuft, also SQL-DB auf EINEN Server..

mir wäre aber nicht bekannt, daß zabbix zur MS-SQL DB connecten kann.

ja dort läuft MS-SQL und MY-SQL auf einem rechner deswegen ist der mysql-server auf einem Win2003-Server installiert.

nur leider hab ich trotz allem noch keine lösung.

Hi Shad0w,

it is necessary to create the database tables _inside_ the zabbix database _after_ creating the database and _before_ you can access the DB via Web-GUI... .

What does (on the commandline):

shell> mysql -u<your-user> -p<your-password> zabbix
mysql> show tables;

give?

If this doesn't give you a list of tables, the solution is: Create schema in database via create-script (as mentioned before by 753713).

PS: Was meinst du mit "tja, leider das selbe problem.. " ein Screenshot oder der Kommandozeilen-Text eines Versuchs wäre hilfreich... .

hallo ich hab es jetzt mehrfach versucht mit

cat mysql.sql | mysql -h 192.168.200.44 -u zabbix -p -D zabbix
Enter password:
ERROR 1050 (42S01) at line 1: Table 'nodes' already exists

jedoch wenn ich show tables mache sagt er das nichts drin ist.. ich hab selbiges auch schon mit root probiert, jedoch geht dies genauso wenig. hat jemand noch eine idee??

mysql> show tables;
Empty set (0.00 sec)

Edit: ok now i use the local mysql where zabbix is installed, and ist works fine, but i think thats not the solution!
And zabbix said that Apache is not running.. is it a bug?? what can i do?
