Error: Cannot update trigger in 1.8.2

We just upgraded from 1.6.9 to 1.8.2.

When I want to add template linkage to host and save it, I get error:
* Circular link can not be created
* Cannot link template
* Host update failed

It seems to be similar to #zbx-2096 but it should be closed in 1.8.2.

Any suggestions what to check? Seems to be same problem for all hosts when updating them..

We were searching code and doing some tests and we finally found that problem was in one of graph. I really do not know how it is possible but from depeenency checker, it seemd that graph depended on same graph id for some graphs. We deleted this graphs. It was our specific problem..

i have the exact same issue. I started a new zabbix from scratch as our upgrade since 1.4 seeamed to go in a bad shape on each time and all was fine with the fresh version. Then i modified a template and put it back a minute later. Since then i cannot touch any template it get me the error:

* Circular link can not be created
* Cannot link template
* Host update failed

even i i link my new host/template with only one template containing nothing...

i do not see anything that could help in the logs an dthis is fresh install 100% done by the web interface. Any idea on how to debug this ?

i eventualy found the circular link, the error message really do not help. This was a host that slipped into a template.

OS Debian 6.02 x86_64
Zabbix 1.8.2 out of the box

Update: resolved - found templete linked to itself
