host.status problem in 1.8.3

Hi all

We just upgraded from 1.8.2 to 1.8.3.
Everything works find except for host.status.
In 1.8.2 host.status=0 when host is reachable, host.status=2 when host is not reachable. That is what you would expect.

However, in 1.8.3 host.status is messed up; some hosts (but not all) got status 2 while reachable.

The hosts are all windows 2003 servers with different zabbix agent versions installed. But same problem occurs on winxp and linux servers.

Anyone experienced similar problems ?

I have the same problem with 1.8 agent and server. I just upgrade the server in 1.8.3 and for the moment, the agent will stay in 1.8. I will see if this problem persist.

For the moment I use the ping item to monitor host availibility.

Our agents are on linux,Do I have to upgrade to 1.8.3?of course I have updated server to 1.8.3.

No, it is not necessary to upgrade agents to 1.8.3 - item "status" works entirely on the server side and does not depend on the agent version.
