    zabbix-server can't start

    Hi.

    I have the next problem:

    OS: fedora 15
    DB: mysql
    Zabbix: 1.8.5

OS is fresh, installed just for zabbix. when i try to start zabbix server, i see:

    Code:
    [root@yfn-srv-f /]# service zabbix-server stop
    Stopping zabbix-server (via systemctl): [ OK ]
    [root@yfn-srv-f /]# service zabbix-server start
    Starting zabbix-server (via systemctl): [ OK ]
    [root@yfn-srv-f /]#
    But in zabbix_server.log:
    Debug level 4 (max)

    Code:
6602:20110815:021542.972 Starting Zabbix Server. Zabbix 1.8.5 (revision 19050).

you must change the shmax in the kernel-config..

I have read many forums, changing of SHMMAX solve problem when in log the next
Can't allocate shared memory of size 29361092 [Cannot allocate memory]
      But in my case:
Cannot allocate shared memory of size 8421263 [Permission denied]

The current value of shmmax in system is 33554432
it is bigger then needed to zabbix I think.

      Anyway I have chenged it

      [root@yfn-srv-f proc]# cat /proc/sys/kernel/shmmax
      268435456

      the same result
      Code:
1721:20110815:131102.627 Cannot allocate shared memory of size 8421263 [Permission denied]
1721:20110815:131102.627 cannot allocate shared memory for history cache
I realy think i have a problem with privileges

          Yuuuhuuu! ))

          Shad0w, Thank you so much!

          Realy, it's SELinux.
Right now I just disabeled it and zabbix-server started well! The next step is RTFM of SELinux.

Thanks a lot one more time!
