2.0.1 issues with SNMP and Discovery

    Hi,

I've been validating all available documentation but did not yet find the issue at hand. I used configuration files from sources.

Unless i'm mistaken i've ran into multiple issue with Zabbix 2.0.1 compiled from source. Which worked fine for 1.8.5

    - Discovery is not working for combined discoveries of HTTP, HTTPS, SNMPv2, ICMP ping
    - SNMP queries run fine from the commandline ( snmpwalk, snmpget tested )
    - A tcpdump monitor shows the discovery is effectively not running, the cron is not running ? Commands are available with suid bit set on fping, ping etc

There is no specific log indicating any issue at this time, unless i've missed out on this.

    Regards,

    JL

    snmp

Because it was a tip in a forum tread, I've tested snmp with a numerical OID starting with a . this did not resolve the issue

I've validated configuration options for zabbix_server.conf to no avail

Based on the traffic i watch with tcpdump the discovery process is simply not starting any of the traffic, though snmptraps are arriving there is no snmp polling/discovery active, neither for any other type of discovery

What am i missing ? Why do the logs remain 'useless'

SNMPtraps not working in Zabbix 2.0 with SNMPTT

      Hi everyone

We are trying to test Snmp trapping on zabbix 2.0 platform. We have followed all the steps in zabbix 2.0 manual and the official snmptt website. The snmptt website is working fine, the proper traps have been added in the snmptt.conf file, however on the portal we are not able to see any traps. Not in the snmpexp item nor in the snmp fallback item.

Has anyone tested the same, if so... will greatly appreciate any help.

        Hi,

        I have a similar problem, I think.

Currently running OK: snmpd, snmptrapd, snmptt

        Config:
        /etc/snmp/snmptrapd.conf

        Code:
        authCommunity execute public
        authCommunity execute PUBLIC
        traphandle default /usr/sbin/snmptthandler
        /etc/snmp/snmptt.conf
        - configured to recognize desired MIB

After receiving the trap, I can see it at the tcpdump output and in the snmptt.log file fine.

But What should I do to push it into the zabbix frontend? I have an Item with Name "Trapper", Type "Zabbix trapper", Key "snmptrap["general"], Type Character. All defined within a 127.0.0.1 Host.

        Thank you
