now getting [[xxx.xxx.xxx.190]:10051]: [111] Connection refused

      HI

I want to monitor a database server.
I have configured Proxy and started.
      I have started Zabbix server.

At DB server I installed zabbix_agent.exe
In conifguration I have kept server ip as of Proxy server's IP.

At Proxy Server i have configured Server IP as my Zabbix Server's IP.

Then I created the host in Zabbix frontend, I added IP of DB server which i want to monitor with option monitor via zabbix_proxy.
      Is it ok?

But now getting connection refuse or sometime system intruppt call.

LOG file not showing any error.

Check the availability of ports "server <-> proxy" and "proxy -> zabbix server".
What speaks zabbix server about availability of the proxy - "Last seen (age)" in the "Administration -> DM"?

          Hi,

I have added host via Zabbix GUI, which is Proxy IP.

In Administration --->> DM showing Mode Active and age repeating from 1Second to 59 Seconds.

Now zabbix agent showing following error.

Received empty response from Zabbix Agent at [xxx.xxx.xxx.71]. Assuming that agent dropped connection because of access permission

            Hi,

I tried with debug level=4 and restarted proxy and zabbix_agentd services.

Uploading the zabbix_agentd.conf from DBServer (monitor server).
            Uploading zabbix_proxy_06may13.log.

Please reply soon now getting error

            # This is a config file for the Zabbix agent daemon (Windows)
            # To get more information about Zabbix, go to http://www.zabbix.com

            ############ GENERAL PARAMETERS #################

Try commenting out parameter ListenIP=xxx.xxx.xxx.190 in zabbix_agentd.conf, this parameter is not mandatory.

How many of IP addresses on the server with the agent?
              Do you use IPv6?

Do I understand correctly that xxx.xxx.xxx.71 (in the post above you type IP entirely and maybe you need to hide it too?) is the IP of the proxy and xxx.xxx.xxx.190 is the IP of Agent?

              Please execute commands:
telnet xxx.xxx.xxx.71 10051 (on the server with agent)
telnet xxx.xxx.xxx.190 10050 (on the proxy server)

                Hi Heiling,

                Thank You for reply,
Answers to your questions are :

                1) I commented the parameter ListenIP=xxx.xxx.xxx.190 .

                2) There is only 1 IP Address on the server with agent.

                3) Yes, Proxy IP is : xxx.xxx.xxx.71 And agent IP is xxx.xxx.xxx.190

                4) Telnet on the proxy server shows :

                telnet xxx.xxx.xxx.190 10050
                Trying xxx.xxx.xxx.190...
                Connected to xxx.xxx.xxx.190.
                Escape character is '^]'.
                Connection closed by foreign host.

But, telnet on agent shows error.

                telnet xxx.xxx.xxx.71 10051
Connecting to the xxx.xxx.xxx.71... Could not open connection to the host on port 10051: Connection failed

                Please reply.

You have no access from server with agent to the Zabbix proxy.
Verify that the proxy is listening 10051 port (parameter ListenPort in zabbix_proxy.conf) and open it on the firewall.

                    Hi,

I tested with netstat command the port 10051 is listening

                    [root@zabbixproxy ~]# netstat -ntl

                    tcp 0 0 ::1:25 :::* LISTEN

                    FYI,

                    -- I have zabbix_agentd on Windows 2003 Server which is (.190)
                    -- I have setup Zabbix_proxy on Centos 6.3 which is (.71)
                    -- I have Zabbix_server on Centos 6.3.

Is this sort of enviournment cause any issue ?

No, the problem is closed port between the windows server and proxy.
You need to add a rule on the firewall, which allowing connection by 10051 from windows server to zabbix proxy.

Did you check port availability with commands like these:
telnet xxx.xxx.xxx.71 10051 (on the server with agent)
telnet xxx.xxx.xxx.190 10050 (on the proxy server)
                            ?
