Get value from agent failed: ZBX_TCP_READ() failed: [104] Connection reset by peer

    Hello all!

I'm brand new to Zabbix. I just got it fully installed and the server piece configured today. I used the Zabbix Appliance iso. I have installed Zabbix onto a Hyper-V Virtual Machine and the installation seems to have been successful. I changed from dhcp to a static IP address and changed my timezone. Other than that, it should be exactly as it came. I started adding hosts and this is where things started to fall apart. The first host I attempted to add is a Windows Server 2012 R2 Virtual Machine hosted on a VMWare ESXi 6.5 box. I was able to get the agent installed and started, but I can't get it to communicate properly with the server. I've tried modifying the conf file, but to no avail. Here's the error I'm getting:

Get value from agent failed: ZBX_TCP_READ() failed: [104] Connection reset by peer

I've also tried adding a physical Windows Server 2012 R2 box, and I get the exact same result. What am I missing? The Windows firewall is disabled on the Hyper-V host and both the virtual machine and physical machine that I've installed the agent on. So what am I missing? I've done a tracert between the boxes and ensured that there are no additional hops, so I don't see how it could be an issue with a firewall...unless there is something going on with the Zabbix appliance itself, which I'm completely clueless on so far.

Any help would be greatly appreciate and thanks in advance!

    Hi, briandm81!

Are you using Zabbix servers IP address or DNS name in zabbix_agentd.conf?

    From agent side:
Make sure the DNS of zabbix server retrieves the correct IP address:
    Code:
    ping fulldns.ofzabbix.srv
Make sure you can reach the server from agents perspective:
    Code:
    telnet fulldns.ofzabbix.srv 10050
    Regards,
    Aigars
