Hyper-v Appliance - Cannot Set Interfaces + VI not Working

Hello
i've download the Hyper-v Appliance but i cannot sei Static ord DHCP Ip because VI editor not work in Hyper-V console.
I cannot use ESC to save my modify and there are also problems with writing.
Has anyone encountered this problem?
Unfortunately there is only VI on the server and it is not possible to install other editors (because there is no network).
I've also tried Generation 2 VMs but it does not solve the problem.

Do you use appliance dedicated for your hyper-v version? The download page contains Microsoft Hyper-V version 2008 and 2012.
Can you clarify you got a network interface available other than "lo":

If there is an adapter available like "enp0s3" and hyper-v serves a DHCP by itself then you can try command:

dhclient enp0s3

"dhclient eth0" :-)

Just use mc. It is installed inside.
sudo mc
Navigate and then use its editor mcedit inside on F4 key.
