    Hello Aleksey,

Sorry for not replying to this thread but there were no good news for you so far.

I cannot promise any good news this time either but here is another version of zabbix_agentd.exe for you to try.

Note that there is a PDB file attached that will collect more debug information. This file must be located in the same folder where you have your zabbix_agentd.exe

Another note. If this version crashes your agent, please immediately revert it back to the previous version.

    Best Regards,
    Ingus

      Hello!

I'm sorry, Ingus, this version of zabbix agent cannot start on my Windows 2000 machine.

It's showing the error message "zabbix_agentd.exe is not a valid Win32 application" or "Error 193: %1 is not a valid Win32 application"

      Sincerely yours,
      Aleksey

        Aleksey,

I do apologise for the inconvenience!

Turns out this version is not suitable for your environment. It is because different features of zabbix_agentd that are working on newer versions of Windows are not working on older and vice versa. I cannot promise any other fixes now but I will certainly let you know!

        Best Regards,
        Ingus

          Thank you, Ingus!

I'm keeping my fingers crossed for us.
I hope we can solve this problem.
You will write the correct code OR I will kill my server for good and all...
          Sincerely yours,
          Aleksey

            Aleksey,

Don't kill your server just yet! I really hope on a solution as well.

There is now official Zabbix 2.2.4rc4 available at http://www.zabbix.com/download.php .
You can also try agent from that one.

            Best Regards,
            Ingus

New version of zabbix_agent downloaded and started correctly.
It started from 6.74 Mbytes of Private bytes and 39.81 Mbytes of Virtual bytes

                    Not a good news.
After 3 days the agent bite the huge piece of memory( 135 Mb ).

Agent restarted and his memory usage returns to 6 mb.
                    Sincerely yours,
                    Aleksey

                      Aleksy -

I have an identical Win 2000 SP4 32 bit box as yours, and have been running Zabbix agent 2.0.4 for over a year. I just added the memory counters as you show and it appears to be stable. Maybe try reverting your agent to 2.0.4.

Thank you for your advice, tchjts1!
I will try to use the old version.

But one note - Do you think that it's good when Zabbix Agent use 80+ Mb of memory? Do you mind to check, how much memory they will use after restart?

In my case, after restart the agent use only 6-7 Mb of memory, then they slowly use more and more and more memory until I restart them again (usually after 100+ Mb of Private Bytes)
                        Sincerely yours,
                        Aleksey

Aleksy - Well, I didn't realize that it used that much memory until you brought it up. However, we have very few W2K boxes in our environment. In fact, the one I showed you stats from is actually going to be rebuilt on Wednesday.

I suppose that if the memory usage continued to climb, it would have been a problem. But with 2.0.4, it seems to hold steady in my environment.

Anyway, here are 2 screenshots. The first with Zabbix agent being restarted on that W2K box, and the second is from a 2008 server just as a comparison.

I'll give you another screenshot tomorrow after it has run for ~ 24 hours.
Hopefully 2.0.4 agent will be more steady for you also.

Aleksy - Here is what it looks like after 22 hours. 2.0.4 agent seems to be a bit more stable than any other versions you have tried.
