Software invenory with Zabbix

Hi everyone,

I'm new and just threw myself into the world of Zabbix ... and I'm having the first difficulties.
I downloaded and started the Zabbix 4.0.5 appliance on Ubuntu, as a virtual machine on Hyper-V.
I installed the agent on my laptop to test Zabbix's automatic inventory function. On Zabbix I created the host referred to my pc, enabled the automatic inventory function from the "host inventory" tab and created the item that uses the "system.sw.packages" key linking it to a field to always fill in "Host inventory" tab. I do not understand how to compile correctly the key, since it does not give me any data.
Instead, the operating system was correctly detected and the field that I assigned to it compiled (but this using a template already configured in Zabbix). So I don't think it's an interface problem with the agent, also because I see it online.
I've tried putting the key "system.sw.packages [all, all, full]" (settings that if I haven't mistake should be default), but nothing changes. I have no error, no signal, nothing. I just can't find directions on how to set it up ...

Which host inventory field are you trying to fill with value of item system.sw.packages? Host inventory fields have different size limits.

Which Type of information is set in the item system.sw.packages ? It must be set to Text.
If you go to Configuration -> Latest data, do you see the last value of that item? Check the Show items without data and Show details checkboxes, do you see a red error icon in the Info column?

Hi, I installed this mornig Zabbix from package and try now to reconfigure my items. Let me time to try and write later here.
I used the appliance first (that I deleted). The type of information was set to text, as requested.

Hi, from https://www.zabbix.com/documentation...ed_by_platform, I'm reading now that Windows client not support this key... and my client in only on Windows.
Too bad, because it was useful. Looking for the key agent, I didn't understand it...
