    TimescaleDB and housekeeping - problem

    Hi,

I have a problem with my zabbix database, growing without end.

I have, since begining (testing zabbix for two months now), configured zabbix with timescaledb
but I made a mistake with housekeeping parameter, keeping too much data, now my database size is more than 390GB.

I made change of housekeeping parameters, but housekeeping is running since 3 days and doesn't seem to clean a lot (or clean slower than the dabase is growing)

what is the best practice with timescaledb regarding housekeeping ?

With TimescaleDB Zabbix should drop your history by TSDB's chunks, not individual records. Did you change your housekeeping parameters to accomodate this behaviour as described in the manual? (see Override item history/trend parameters).

      thanks

I add enable back these settings (remove for testing)
      I set :
      • Override item history period = 7
      • Override item trend period = 365
after runing the command, it has deleted a lot of chunk for history and history_uint, keeping just one.
but the space isn't reclaimed on the disk.

Do i have something to do with postgres ?
