If it's an agent status it should say that, not host availability. It should list the agent as unknown and the state as determined by the ping.

I had the same problem, but then realized it was actually a simple fix. Modify the widget to show both active and passive clients.
If you check the box for Show only totals, it will look like normal and include all your hosts.
If you don't check the box, it will give you a break-down of the active vs. passive.
