Active Agent Host Availability Unknown

Hello guys,

I need help about Host Availability Status for remote hosts. My goal was to monitor remote hosts/computers outside of our organization using active agent. The thing is, these remote hosts are owned by other companies so we are unable/not allowed to setup proxy zabbix server on their premise and we do not have access also to their firewall to configure a policy to allow passive checks from our zabbix server. I was able to setup Active Agent and remote hosts successfully sends data to our Zabbix Server however, the host availability status is unknown. Is there any alternative way to check host availability wherein the active agent/host is the one that sends updates the availability status to the zabbix server?

I've seen this before, i thought there should be another way to do this. Looks like i have to wait for this feature to be added . Anyway, Thanks

This questions seems to be asked quite a lot and it is *such* and obvious request to have a "green" status even for active hosts... I'm new to Zabbix (three hours in) and I've added two LAN hosts and a couple of WAN hosts (hosts on the far side of a firewall). While I was pleasantly surprised that the WAN hosts showed up on the dashboard (after port forwarding, creating an auto-add action, etc); it's almost unbelievable that I don't get a "green" status if the host (agent) is online! I mean, what's the point then?
