Templates and Host Interfaces

When assigning Templates to a host is it not possible to specify which host interface you want the template items to be assigned to? Is there a way of doing this via the API or is it something needs to be done separately (afterwards) or am I taking the wrong approach?

I have an ESXi Host which I want to monitor at the Hardware level (iDRAC) and Software level (ESXi) with two separate interfaces (IP Addresses) and want to assign a Template to each interface. Doable or should I be creating two Hosts?

The configuration is all done via config files and the API atm.

Currently on Zabbix 4.4.7 (but in the process of migrating to 5) if that has any relevance

I'm not sure about the whole case but you definitely can not assign a template to a host interface. Only one same template can be linked to a host at a time, so if you really need that the only way is 2 hosts. But I think someone that has better vmware monitoring expertise could help here.
