How monitor down/up of devices?

Hello
i want to check tatus of all devices in our network, lots of them are without agent so need alternative like just ping their ip,
this key: icmpping essay writer
retyrn false value lots of time, zabbix server can ping device and device can ping zabbix too but "icmpping" return 0 value to zabbix server and say device is down,
any alternative for "icmpping" or other solution to check status of devices ?

Is it always the same device failing? Check the zabbix logs, zabbix uses "fping". What options are you using for the icmpping item key?

We do this for 1000's of devices for a backup "availability only" Zabbix server we use when our main server is down for maintenance.
