Zabbix 5.4 Frontend + Server on Ubuntu 16.04?

    Hi,

I am trying to install them from packages.

However, it seems like no such package according to https://www.zabbix.com/download?zabb...xenial&db=&ws= ?

And I also ran apt to check:
apt search zabbix | grep "5.4"

WARNING: apt does not have a stable CLI interface. Use with caution in scripts.

    zabbix-agent/unknown,now 1:5.4.3-1+ubuntu16.04 amd64 [installed]
    zabbix-get/unknown 1:5.4.3-1+ubuntu16.04 amd64
    zabbix-release/unknown,unknown,now 1:5.4-1+ubuntu16.04 all [installed]
    zabbix-sender/unknown 1:5.4.3-1+ubuntu16.04 amd64

    Or am I missing sometihng?

Zabbix official repository does not publish frontend package for Ubuntu 16.04 of Zabbix 5.4. In particular, PHP must be 7.2.5 or later to work with Zabbix 5.4 frontend. I think the standard PHP version of Ubuntu 16.04 was 7.0, so it doesn't meet the system requirements.
It is recommended to use 18.04 or 20.04 to run Zabbix 5.4 frontend using official Zabbix package on Ubuntu.

      Hi,

Why do you try on Ubuntu 16.04? If there is no special reason, I highly recommend Ubuntu 20.04 because of LTS.

It would be better to use this page to setup

Zabbix is being downloaded over 4 000 000 times every year for a reason. Download and install Zabbix for free and try it yourself!

        Hey,
you really should update your installation for security and stability reasons
But maybe you can't update, because of compliance or compatibility reasons. So you should check the Requirements of Zabbix.
Then you should check the packages that are available for your Ubuntu Release and also go ahead and check, if you can install the repositories from the vendors, so you are
able to use the reduired versions of the tools.

It could be possbile, that you need to install the packages from zabbix directly via
        Code:
         dpkg -i <package>
because the versions you are looking for are not included in the repos.

        Good luck!

        Ulli
