Hundreds of E-Mails without any notification on the server

Hello,

I'm working with Zabbix LTS (4.0.35) on Debian 10 with latest updates. Since this morning I'm getting hundreds, thousands of mails from the same server with the same notification. Every second there are two mails with a problem and the resolving. The only way to stop this is to stop zabbix server. In the queue tab there isn't anything. The only change I made was installing updates on the server which is monitored by zabbix.

All notification are in the past for over an hour now, but the eventlog doesn't show anything at this time stamp regarding the notification. Therefore the problem must be the zabbix server itself.

I restarted Zabbix server and the monitored server. Nothing changes.

Has somebody an idea, what can cause this mail flood?

I found a solution:

The forum is quite great but my search abilities have to improve. In this thread: https://www.zabbix.com/forum/zabbix-...-does-not-stop somebody has the same error and fixed it with:

use zabbix; (Or whatever your Zabbix DB name is)
delete from escalations;
update alerts set status=1 where status=0;
