    ICMP ping issue

    Hello everyone,

I'm not an expert of zabbix so this may be an easy "problem" but i am losing my mind on it.
I have some freshly installed proxies connected to a fresh server installation. The template ICMP Ping is detecting all of them (and all the other host directly monitored by the server) as down.

The proxies are connected and sending data to the server correctly and the agent installed on them gathers all their statistics just fine. If i execute a ping command from the zabbix server, it successfuly reaches the hosts (so it's not a networking/permissions problem).

The ping template itself seems to be working fine too, as all the hosts monitored by the proxies get successfully pinged by the template. It seems to be a problem related to the main zabbix server only. In the logs of the zabbix server there is no error, only the data transmission between the server and the proxies:

Zabbix server/proxies are v. 6.0.7 running on ubuntu 22.04 LTS minimized. All agents are v. 6.0.7

Test the ping from the proxy, not from the server, the proxy will issue the pings for hosts it monitors.

The problem is happening with some hosts which i specifically need to monitor with the main server. These hosts are not depending by any proxies and the datas are sent straight to the servers (succesfully, except for the ping template - ping works if i put them under the proxies tho). Same goes for the proxies themselves (all 3 of them has the same issue), which are straight monitored by the main server (i can't make a proxy ping itself, but i still need to know if the proxies are available in my network)

Solved, the command fping on the server didn't have the correct permissions. Thanks for the help
