Zabbix 3.0 Cannot authenticate to VMware

I have a new Ubuntu 14.4 installation with Zabbix 3.0 and added a VMware vCentre following the install guide.





For testing, I am using the exact same username and password as I would when administering my VMware farm for real so I know that's ok but on the console, within "Discovery Rules", the info box reads "Cannot complete login due to an incorrect username or password".

I have increased logging and I see this;

Please can anyone help as I am at my wits end ?!

Hello,

I faced the same issue [ZBX-11630], which happens when {$PASSWORD} contains XML special characters.

You should change the VMware password with something which does NOT contains any of these 5 characters < & ' " > then retry.
