    The data comes in, the template is linked, but the zbx icon is gray. What's wrong?

    Migrated manually by exporting hosts/templates (self-written) from 5.4.12 to 6.2.4 (mostly due to old OS). Official templates were not transferred, i.e. they are new on the new server.

    I am seeing an interesting situation: the windows and linux hosts that have the "os by zabbix agent active" template are sending data to zabbix. From zabbix they are available, but they are grayed out in the zabbix interface.

    I've tried deleting the host, auto-registration goes through (host visibility is confirmed), data comes in, but the icon is still grayed out. Tried updating agent, updated the "os by zabbix agent active" template to the latest. No result. Well, there is one host started with new agent (probably the first one where I just updated agent and didn't even think twice about it). The configuration of the agents has not been changed.

    What am I doing wrong?

    Example of a gray icon

    1. It is necessary to raise the version of the agent.
    2. You were right. Due to the fact that most hosts only active checks - the icon will remain gray. On the previous server, the active check templates had a passive ping (either in the "base" or I once corrected). Due to the fact that I didn't change the agent configuration and the templates were fresh, I was looking in the wrong direction. Changed in the modern template and it was ok.
    3. the hard way (either a bug or poorly studied documentation): if I put DebugLevel=5 on the agent, the agent does not work normally. Tested on 3 servers, I did not check further. This "nuance" drank a lot of nerves and time.
    So it turned out that on a randomly chosen host updated the agent and everything turned green - there were, in addition to the standard template, and other templates, with passive checks. In other places because of only active checks "did not turn green", put debuglevel and, as a result, wasted a lot of time

        If that's what you mean:
        • there are no enabled items on the interface (they were removed or disabled)
        • the host has items enabled
        • there are only active Zabbix agent items;
        • mmm. i'll checked it later*
        • there are no pollers for that type of the interface (e.g. StartPollers=0);
        • StartPollers=15
        • host is disabled;
        • no
        • host is set to be monitored by proxy, a different proxy or by server if it was monitored by proxy;
        • no
        • host is monitored by a proxy that appears to be offline (no updates received from the proxy during the maximum heartbeat interval - 1 hour).
        • no
        *The strangest thing is that the agent settings haven't changed. The templates attached are the same. But has the server logic changed?
        Is it possible that the old template (os by zabbix agent active) used passive checks?
