Network burst every 24h

Hi,

I was alerted by our network team, that zabbix server sends a burst of probes (like 5000 requests / s) every 24h.

It literally does a "refresh every probe at the same time" every day, at the same time.

I restarted the zabbix server, and it was then exactly 24h after the restart. So it is definitively the Zabbix. Even a wireshark traffic analyze shows that it's zabbix server refreshing all the probes.

Any idea how to disable this ? Or smooth this out ?

Hi,

Are you experiencing some network lag or something else?

For each connection to Database, Zabbix opens new connection, that is why you see those 5000 connections (probes) from Zabbix server.

Database is mysql, and is run locally on the Zabbix server.
The analyze in WireShark shows that it's requests/replies between Zabbix server and the zabbix clients.

It's the network guys which are complaining, as they see a lot of dropped packets and firewall overload during the burst.

The first burst comes 5 hours after restart of the Zabbix server and then every 24 hours exactly.
