What you need is a SMTP server to deliver messages generated by ZABBIX.

No client.
Just do the configuration in the Web frontend -> Adminstration / Media Types / Email
and enter the data for the fields

SMTP Server - your internal SMTP server used for sending E-Mails to external receivers,
SMPT helo - an identification of your server, e.g., the hostname, and
SMTP Email - will show up as the sender of the mail.

That's all.

Hi.

I bet i'm being a bit clumsy again but the only place i seem to find email as an option is under Configuration, users media type and there's no server configuration there.

I'm running 1.4.2

Ok i found it...

Just in the case someone doesn't find it at a glace, as It happened to me, There's a drop down menu at the very right of the Configuration, General screen
