Remove zabbix agentd from event log

Zabbix agent is filling my event log with tons of data(circular logging) and that is not desired because i loose the rest of the log(i don't have any log aggregator running).

i can't find a way to disable this behaviour. Been through the foruns, wiki and manual.

there used to be a way to disable this with the remove-events option on the agent, but it does not work with zabbix_agentd.exe version 1.4.2 (downloaded from the site).

can anyone point out the procedure?
