This functionality enables scripted scenarios for complex data collection and reliable multi-step availability monitoring.

Availability checks of cloud and micro services, applications and devices having HTTP endpoints have never been easier thanks to support of the new metric type "Script".

Zabbix Insights

Get most of your history data! A new set of trigger functions enables long-term data analysis and allows to create powerful insights, detect anomalies and system misbehaviour.

• Now you can get smart alerts about detected anomalies such as "Total amount of network traffic increased by 28% in September" or "Amount of new user registrations decreased by 12% last week"
• The trend analysis functions can be used not only for IT metrics but also for KPIs to measure business performance, the efficiency of sales and marketing, customer support QoS and others.

Storage of secrets in external Vault

Integration with HashiCorp Vault enables secure storage of all sensitive information with fine-grained control access to tokens, passwords, certificates, encryption keys, API tokens, user names, etc.

• All secrets are kept outside of Zabbix in a secure place
• No sensitive data is stored in Zabbix database
• Your monitoring is ready for the most strict security audits

User roles to control permissions

Now Zabbix supports flexible user roles for much more granular management of user rights to control access to various parts of Zabbix UI, API methods and user operations.

It enables the ability to create secure customer portals, read-only users, users having access to dashboards only, super-administrators with limited privileges and much more.

Fine-grained control for access to Zabbix API methods makes integrations with 3rd party services much more secure.

Monitoring of IoT and industrial equipment

Modbus and MQTT – the most common IoT protocols for sensors and industrial equipment monitoring are natively supported by Zabbix now.

You can monitor IoT devices, sensors and various production equipment out of the box. No need to use other software and 3rd party add-ons anymore.

MQTT is a standard messaging protocol for the IoT. Native solution for monitoring messages published by MQTT brokers. It is supported by Zabbix Agent2.

Modbus has become a de facto standard communication protocol and is now a commonly available means of connecting industrial electronic devices. It is supported by Zabbix Agent and Zabbix Agent2 for TCP and Serial connections.

Load balancing for UI and API

Zabbix introduces the ability to scale Zabbix UI and API components across multiple nodes for speed, HA and redundancy.

Create custom views

Zabbix provides the ability to save named complex-filters and re-use them later with one-click. It makes possible to create different problem views for different services or data centres, for example, and switch between them instantly.

YAML for import/export

Much more readable Yaml format becomes a new standard for templates and Zabbix import/export operations.

Usability improvements

Zabbix 5.2 comes with numerous usability improvements:

• Selection of timezone for individual users. It makes monitoring much more convenient for global teams
• Better layout for maintenance definition form
• Simplified logic for scheduling of unsupported metrics
• It is possible to specify the default language for all users now
• List of dashboards shows clearly what dashboards are created by me and their sharing options

• Templated screens are converted to templated dashboards

Zabbix 5.2 introduces a new set of out-of-the-box integrations with industry-standard cloud-based and on-premise ITSM systems including Jira, Jira ServiceDesk, Redmine, ServiceNow, Zendesk, OTRS, Zammad, Solarwinds Service Desk, TOPdesk, SysAid.

Official webhook Coding Guideline was introduced to set the standard and simplify the creation of webhook based integrations.

Most of the existing templates are updated and new templates and plugins are introduced for monitoring of different services, applications and devices.
