I see this is a pretty old thread, so wanted to verify that it is still a recommended way integrate zabbix and php-weathermap? Also, has anyone done any work with 4.0? We are using cacti and php-weathermap, with 1000+ data sources and graphs (infourl, overlibgraph) on some of the weathermaps. So, I was curious about the performance seen when running a weathermap using zabbix data which has very density of data on it. Thanks for any info.

Looking at the DS plugin from M Schedrin (and also Tungsten), I think both would need some changes to work with Weathermap 0.98, also (definitely for 1.x when it's done), as the classes for data plugins have changed over the years.

Thanks, Howie. I was afraid of that, as we need a ready-made solution. Still think zabbix and php weathermap would be a 'marriage made in heaven' and would be used by hundreds, if not thousands of users. Zabbix 4.0 has an 'ExportDir=' feature which allows easy export of all the data it collects in json format. That might be an alternative path for php weathermap to retrieve data collected by zabbix.
