2 zabbix server conneted to 1 proxy

Hello.

we have already installed zabbix server and zabbix dabatase server in site " 1 " .zabbix server is also connected in passive mode to zabbix proxy that is installed on site "2".

in our case we need to install other zabbix server with database in site 2 in order to connect it to same zabbix proxy .
is it feasible to have two zabbix sevrers connected to one (same ) proxy servers in passive mode ?

in our architecture , we have sites 1 and 2

in site 1 , zabbix server is monitoring hosts in site 1 directly and hosts in site 2 through zabbix proxy.
in site 2 , there is only zabbix proxy

we need to install zabbix server in site 2 for monitoring hosts in site 2 through same zabbix proxy in order to still have graphical access for monitoring in case
the connection between site 1 and site 2 is dropped and to avoid installing second zabbix proxy

Currently Zabbix proxy does not support multiple servers. You can have another proxy instance, for second Zabbix server on the same host, listening on different port.

Create 2 config files for each proxy with different ListenPort, Server, Hostname, PidFile, LogFile values and try starting them:

zabbix_proxy -c /etc/zabbix/zabbix_proxy1.conf
zabbix_proxy -c /etc/zabbix/zabbix_proxy2.conf

And view their log files to see if everything goes well.

I have no idea what are you trying to do but there is no sense in having the same checks going through 2 proxies.

yes True, we are trying to testing scenarios in our environment. But just for confirmation , running two instances for zabbix proxy will cause polling data two times ?

If you have 2 instances of a zabbix proxy running in the environment which answer to different zabbix servers, they will poll and trap data independently from another. So if the configurations of the hosts is identical on both servers, polling will happen twice.

No, it is still not possible. A proxy can only send data to one server.

As others have said, you can run 2 instances of the proxy in the same server. Don't share the database.

Agents can connect/respond to both. Don't poll agents, use agent-active items, at least for the majority of the items.
