Issue polling specific value in IPMI

    Hi All,

I got a Supermicro ATOM Blades Server on which I use IPMI. A simple IPMI command is working fine :

    /usr/bin/ipmitool -H $hostname -L User -U $login -P $password sdr

    System Temp | 26 degrees C | ok
    CPU Temp | 29 degrees C | ok
    FAN 1 | 5210 RPM | ok
    FAN 2 | 5025 RPM | ok
    CPU Vcore | 1.15 Volts | ok
    Vichcore | 1.04 Volts | ok
    +3.3VCC | 3.26 Volts | ok
    VDIMM | 1.52 Volts | ok
    +5 V | 4.99 Volts | ok
    +12 V | 11.98 Volts | ok
    +3.3VSB | 3.26 Volts | ok
    VBAT | 3.15 Volts | ok
Chassis Intru | disabled | ns
    PS Status | 0 unspecified | nc

I configure each Item in a specific IPMI for ATOM template.
Everything is working except FAN 1 & FAN 2 Items.

    I cannot get the values.

Those IPMI request are done by a zabbix proxy, I got in the zabbix_proxy.log file :

5200:20110826:193757.368 Item [hostname:fan-2] is not supported
5202:20110826:193758.183 Item [hostname:fan-1] is not supported

I do not understand why. I got some items with space in it like "CPU Vcore" or "+5 V". The only difference I can find is that there is a space before a number.

Is someone has this kind of issue ? Is this a bug ?
I manage to use an external script to work around this problem but this is frustating I would like to centralize all configurations.

    Regards,
    Laurent

can you try retrieving that value alone with ipmitol ? what is the exact sensor name you have to specify for successful retrieval ?

I've got this exact same problem. Created my own template and everything works except FAN 1, FAN 2, FAN 3 and FAN 4.

I've tried all possible combinations and ipmitools works perfectly so I suspect this might be a Zabbix bug somewhere with the formatting of the space before the number...
