    SLA calculation on IT Services

How it's calculated the values of SLA in IT services?

    Example:

    - Service 1
    --- Trigger 1
    --- Trigger 2

If the SLA of Trigger 1 was 0.02 and the SLA of Trigger 2 was 0.04

The SLA of parent service (Service 1) should be 0:06?

    Thank's in advance!

    Sorry by my english...

I know this is a very late reply but to help others understand.

You cannot add 2 SLAs to each other. The best way to think of this is what happens when both SLAs reach 100%? You cannot violate an SLA by 200%.

So instead Service 1 is an average of Trigger1 & Trigger2

            So to use your example: Trigger 1 = 0.02 and Trigger 2 = 0.04
            Makes: Service 1 = 0.03%

            You calculation would be: =(0.02+0.04)/2

              Hmm...

I'm not sure... I made a test one day and the result was:
              Service 1 = 0.04%

It takes the highest value. Although, from what I noticed, the results can be different depending on the version in use. For example, if a trigger is in state unknown, old zabbix versions calculate that as downtime. Nowadays, unknown state it's not used in sla math (apparently).

But, as i said... i'm not sure, i've been doing these tests in 1.8.12, 1.8.14, 2.0, 2.0.1 and 2.0.2, i don't remember anymore. Is like that question about "Use custom multiplier", some people say that the default value keep changing from version to version, there are topics about this issue...
