I have a proxy located on a remote site with eight devices being monitored with around 800 items and around 120 triggers. The problem is the ADSL service is flaky and is backed up by a 4G connection, when the service switches effectively the internet is down for 5 minutes or so. its configured by another company and despite lots of complaints they will do nothing about it.
the problem we see is that the proxy is unreachable after five minutes and then a whole load of triggers go off relating to the devices that are also unreachable. which obviously isnt really happening its just the internet is going down on that site.
is there an elegant way to disable the false triggers when the proxy is unreachable ?, I did try and experiment with dependence on certain triggers but the 'add' button is not present on the hosts behind the proxy which is odd? -
any thoughts would be appreciated.
please keep it simple with the explanation , we're still finding our feet with zabbix and learning where everything is etc..
