How to install Zabbix agent windows msi through gpo/similar

    Hi,

Can someone walk me through the process of installing a zabbix agent for windows (msi) to multple computers without doing it manually.

The msi autocompletes the Hostname but I would still have to specify the zabbix server IP so if I try to install it silently, it does not work.

    Thank you

Is there a switch I could use like "msiexec zabbix_agent.msi /quiet -zabbixserver=IPADDRESS" so that the IP of the server will be changed in the config file?

Late to the party, but for anyone else finding this later like I did, it looks like this is now documented in the manual:

For those still searching (Google brought me to this thread, so I must not be alone) here's the command I ended up using

        Code:
        msiexec /i zabbix_agent2-7.0.3-windows-amd64-openssl.msi /qn SERVER=ZabbixServerFQDN SERVERACTIVE=ZabbixServerFQDN ENABLEPATH=1 HostMetadata=Windows
I'm under the impression that the SERVER=Zabbix may not be necessary, but haven't tested yet.

But installing the agent is half the battle, you also need to configure auto registration. Step 6 in https://bestmonitoringtools.com/inst...er-monitoring/ sent me in the right direction with these things to keep in mind:
        1. using the HostMetaData=Windows in the cmdline above you don't need to edit the config file as it is now added
        2. In Zabbix v7, the autoregistration is under Alerts | Actions | Autoregistration actions
        3. You will also need to configure discovery in Data Collection | Discovery
