Our organization uses FlexLM licenses for some of our CAD software, these FlexLM servers are running on Windows servers. Previously we had been using Nagios to monitor the usage of these licenses but we are moving our monitoring system to be Zabbix. I am unsure how nagios was able to do this as it was set up by a previous staff member who had left many years ago and didn't document the setup. We've nearly completed the move to Zabbix but have not yet been able to set anything up for our License monitoring and this is a big requirement from management as they use these graphs to determine whether the need to purchase more etc.
I have seen there is a template for FlexLM (https://share.zabbix.com/cat-app/flexlm-licence-usage) and we have attempted to set this up but have not had any luck, I assume it is because it is more targeted towards running FlexLM on a Linux server rather than Windows. We don't have much experience with Linux or scripting so I don't think we'd be able to build one from scratch ourselves.
So our Question is if anyone has been in a similar situation and have found a way to get Zabbix to monitor FlexLM licenses that run on Windows? And if so could you explain how you did that to some Zabbix beginners?
