Network Discovery sends emails after *every* execution. How do I stop this?

OK, I think it's the lockdown and too much sunshine but I simply can't figure this out (and I'm certain its something obvious!).....

I have configured a VERY basic Discovery rule : It's an IP Range scan using ICMP Ping for 192.168.1.1-254

I have also got my Discovery Action set up as follows :

    CONDITIONS : Host_IP = 192.168.1.`-254

OPERATIONS: Send email message to Admin and add the host to the "Discovered Hosts" hostgroup.

All seems to work well, anything that responds to a ping is added to the Discovered Hosts hostgroup. HOWEVER I get an email for every host every time that the discovery runs.

I only want an email the first time the host is discovered.

I simply can't figure out where or how I can configure this in the Discovery Action Conditions.

I'm sure it's something obvious - so feel free to miliate me with a simple answer.

    Thanks all.

Hi I'm also new to Zabbix and I'm facing the same issue. I'm getting an email after every discovery run for hosts which were discovered already.
        How can this be stopped?

        Thanks
        A.

          Hi all,

I have the same issue (on Zabbix 6.4) but not with email, I use discord for sending a message if a host is added. I tried to use the option "Discovery equals status Discovered". As I can read in the documentation, this should only report a device when it's new and a service is "Up".

This is te line from the documentation which I found on https://www.zabbix.com/documentation...ery#discovery:
Host Discovered At least one service of a host is 'up' after all services of that host were 'down' or a service is discovered which belongs to a not registered host.
But when I use "Discovered", a host won't be added. If I use "Up" it works but runs (and sends messages) everytime the discovery is run. Do I use "Discovered" wrong or am I forgetting something?
