Discovery action with adding host help!

So I have setup a network discovery on a specific subnet and discovery actions to add/remove hosts not seen over a specific period of time but I am encountering the following "quirks" and need guidance.

I am running the latest version of 5.0 on the Server/Proxies and the Windows agents are getting version 4.4.5.

1. When a host is added it is setting the agent interface to the IP address instead of the DNS name. Due to the nature of these subnets servers get rebuilt all the time but always have the same name but not the same IP address as the IP is automatically handed out via next free IP from automation in the /23's. How do I get Zabbix to add the host with the agent interface set to the DNS name? It is there when I check the host but the IP option is selected over the DNS option.
2. I use host level tags to keep things organized, I read online someone with the same problem and someone suggested to use a Template for the tags. I setup two simple Templates with a tag in each and they are getting linked to the host at creation but the tags aren't coming across and show in the host's record. How could I go about doing this?

Hello,

It is most likely a problem with DNS more than Zabbix.
You must configure DNS(BIND) and Microsoft DNS to work together.

How is this a DNS issue? The IP reverse resolves to the same DNS name and also the DNS name, FQDN, resolves to the IP. Zabbix is CLEARLY putting both in the host entry but for some reason chooses IP and I can't change that at creation via this process.

This HOST is getting created via discovery actions and not manually. The host record, created via discovery actions, is populated with the IP and FQDN of the host in both fields but the AUTO HOST CREATION PROCESS is selecting Connect to as IP and I can't find a way at AUTO HOST CREATION to default to DNS.

Yes, Sorry. You are right. I read your issue in a hurry.
As far as I remember, this problem arose earlier.
Usage of IP is hard coded in Zabbix server code.
So I see the following options:
1) Change Zabbix server source code (i.e. set "useip = 0") and recompile server.
2) Change this parameter via API or mass update option for the already registered hosts later.
