    Proxy response time

    Hi,

I'm monitoring 20+ hosts via proxy, and many more hosts to come.
How can i reduce the time between uplink failure on a switch to the moment i actually see the uplink as down on server?

The current situation is that now a switch uplink (or any other interface) is going down - and it takes approx 1-2 minutes until it shows on the map i created for the network.

    Any help will be appreciated

You would definitely want to reduce the intervals of checks for the uplink on the switches and adjust the intervals at which your proxy reports back to the server or the server requests updates from the proxy.
I think in your situation, the proxy should be reporting back more frequently than the item is checked to get the best results but I may be wrong here. Keep in mind though that this is definitely going to increase the load on your network and server / proxy. With more hosts this is going to be even worse so you should think about using things like SNMP traps for the uplinks going down to reduce the load.
